How to recycle a hard drive.

A hard drive should be recycled in order to prevent potentially sensitive information from falling into the wrong hands, as well as to prevent hazardous materials from damaging or polluting the environment. Electronic waste is highly toxic and can contain substances such as lead and mercury, which are hazardous if not disposed of properly. When recycled, hard drives are broken down into component parts and the hazardous materials are dealt with in accordance with environmental laws and regulations.
To be 100% sure your data is absolutely destroyed we recomend shredding.  If the data on your drives is of no value and could cause no harm, then to save money you could just let us wipe the drive and prepare it for re-use. 
The fee for handling a hard drive is dependant on the degree of security you need. There are fees for sorting, handling, bar coding and shredding. Your rep can go over these fees and help you decide which works better for you.
